MORRILTON — Looking over a lot full of 2010 Motor Trend Truck of the Year Dodge Rams, Hagans Dodge General Manager Robert Scroggin noted that what sets the dealership apart is time-tested customer service.
“We are the last old-fashioned dealer there is,” he said. “You used to pull up to the service station, and they would check your windshield wipers and tire pressure, the whole nine yards. That’s us. No one else is left who does business like that.”
Providing “loaner” vehicles to customers is just one of the little things that makes Hagans unique. But one of the big things is the dealership’s extensive knowledge of and experience with heavy-duty commercial-use trucks.
“We’ve always specialized in heavy-truck sales. There’s really no one in the state that sells any more ‘heavies’ than we do,” Scroggin said.
Those trucks — the Ram 2500 and 3500 and Chassis Cab models — serve a multitude of purposes. The staff at Hagans has focused on the versatile vehicles to serve a variety of uses.
“We have a lot of the natural gas business,” Scroggin explained. “We serve welders to pipefitters, farmers who haul cattle trailers and construction men who haul heavy equipment.”
Though Hagans is the heavy-duty destination, the dealership carries the complete Dodge and Chrysler line of light-duty trucks and passenger cars and sport-utility vehicles and features a service department that hums with activity.
In the lineup, of course, is the Dodge Ram ”Heavy,” the 2010 Motor Trend Truck of the Year.
“We have the best truck on the road as far as the ride. The interior has been totally redesigned. The 2009 was awarded v irtually every award available. And following that, the 2010 Ram ‘Heavy’ won Motor Trend Truck of the Year,” Scroggin said.
Backed by a five-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty — even stronger for commercial-use models — that stays with the vehicle, Hagans Dodge trucks, cars and SUVs will be around for a long time, like the dealership itself.
“We are not a high-pressure dealer. We’re not gonna call you 10 times a day, and we don’t track you with computer systems,” Scroggin pledged. “We are an old-fashioned dealer. We do business with a handshake, and our word is our bond.”
Located at 401 Builders Lane, Hagans Dodge Chrysler Jeep has been in business for nearly four decades and plans to be around for years to come.
The dealership is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. The dealership’s telephone number is (877) 290-8346.
